Integrating External Analytics

PlotsAlot thrives when it can see the full picture. By linking your website or app analytics, you allow the assistant to correlate user behaviour with internal performance metrics for richer stories.

1. Why Integrate Google Analytics?

  • Holistic View – Combine session data with sales figures to pinpoint conversion drivers.
  • Faster Reporting – Generate marketing dashboards without jumping between platforms.
  • Actionable Insights – Ask “Which landing pages drive the most revenue?” and get an answer that fuses GA and transactional data.

2. Connection Flow

  1. In any chat, click the Integrations button (plug-icon).
  2. Select Google Analytics and press Connect.
  3. Approve the requested scopes (read-only).
  4. Back in PlotsAlot, pick which properties you want to expose. You can add multiple properties.

Once complete, you will see a badge indicating the number of connected properties. They remain available for all future chats unless you revoke access.

3. Crafting Cross-Source Questions

After connecting, the assistant recognises GA metrics by name. Try prompts like:

  • “Show daily active users and compare to sign-ups from the database over the past month.”
  • “List top five referral sources that lead to purchases.”

The assistant merges datasets under the hood, resolves timestamp formats, and returns unified charts.

4. Managing Permissions

  • You can revoke GA access at any time from the Integrations panel.
  • Access tokens are refreshed automatically—no need for manual maintenance.
  • Data is cached securely to improve response times, respecting the permissions you granted.
